Parenting Classes: Understanding me up to age Three

SDSU Child and Family Resource Network is excited to share a new opportunity for local families: Understanding Me Up to Age Three, a free, in-person parenting series designed especially for expectant parents and caregivers of children ages birth to three.

Beginning August 13, 2026, the Child & Family Resource Network will offer this four-week series at the Beacon Center in Watertown. Each session provides practical, easy-to-use tools that help caregivers better understand how young children grow, learn, and experience the world.

What You’ll Learn

Each week focuses on an important part of early development:

Why I Do What I Do – Understanding behavior and early brain development
Keep Me Safe – Building secure environments and healthy routines
How I Learn – Supporting curiosity, play, and learning
Help Me Manage My Feelings – Nurturing emotional skills from the very beginning

Parents who understand these early building blocks often find more confidence, calm, and joy in their day-to-day parenting.

Why This Series Matters

Understanding Me Up to Age Three pairs beautifully with the Common-Sense Parenting classes already offered in our community for ages 3–16. Together, these programs give families support from birth all the way through the teen years.
