A New Chapter for Codington Connects
A New Chapter for Codington Connects
Many in our community are already familiar with the building donated to us by Lee Schull and Schull Construction Company, and we’re excited to share what comes next. Transforming this space into a central hub of support has been one of the key goals since our strategic plan was created in 2022. A great deal of time, energy, and collaboration has gone into moving this vision forward, and we’re thrilled to see the next steps taking shape.
We’re equally excited to announce some of the initial partners who will be part of this new space: Codington County Community Services, the Department of Health, the Public Health Office, and WIC. Their involvement reflects a shared commitment to making resources easier to access and more connected for community members. In addition, we are currently in conversations with several other partners who are supportive of the Codington Connects mission and interested in joining this collaborative effort.
Before renovations begin, the building will undergo essential asbestos remediation to ensure the safety of everyone who will use the space. Once that phase is complete, we will begin a thoughtful remodeling process focused on improving accessibility, expanding functional areas, and designing spaces that reflect our commitment to dignity, connection, and community-centered support.
To make these improvements possible, we are currently working on securing loans for financing the renovation project. Each design choice is guided by our goal of bringing resources closer to the community and creating an environment that feels open, supportive, and easy to navigate. This project embodies our BPI philosophy of Building Partnerships that Inspire collaborations rooted in generosity, shared purpose, and the belief that meaningful progress happens when people invest in one another. We are deeply grateful to Lee Schull and Schull Construction Company for inspiring this next chapter, and we look forward to keeping the community updated as we bring this long-awaited vision to life.
With gratitude,
