In July, Codington Connects is featuring Watertown Parks, Recreation & Forestry Department as our Agency of the Month. With their mission to “Enhance the Quality of Life through Recreational Opportunities”, they are dedicated to maintaining endless opportunities for everyone to enjoy.
You may be surprised at how much Watertown Parks & Rec has to offer in the Watertown area. They offer a wide variety of indoor and outdoor spaces that keep community members of all ages active year-round. For indoor fun and fitness, you can enjoy the Prairie Lakes Wellness Center, Prairie Lakes Ice Arena, the Fieldhouse, and the historic City Auditorium — all great places for everything from workouts to sports and special events. When the sun’s out, there’s a lot of outdoor options: hit the greens at Cattail Crossing Golf Course or test your aim at the Jackson Crossing and Bramble Links Disc Golf Courses. Families love the Aquatic Center, while the outdoors offers the Stokes-Thomas Campground, community gardens, bike trails, and the forestry areas. Sports lovers can enjoy the games at the Koch Complex, Foundation Fields, Premier Softball Complex, Anza Complex, and the Shooting Complex. Bramble Park Zoo is a favorite for all ages, and gathering spots like Foundation Downtown Park and neighborhood park shelters in over 30 parks across the city make it easy to enjoy the outdoors. The Mount Hope Cemetery, walking trails, and the local dog park also offer spaces for reflection and recreation.
