This month, we are happy to feature SD PLAN/Family Planning Services at Sanford Clinic, an organization dedicated to supporting reproductive health in our community. Their work plays a meaningful role in ensuring individuals and families have access to care, resources, and support when they need it most.
They provide cost-effective and confidential reproductive services for those capable of reproduction. This commitment reflects their focus on dignity, accessibility, and education, ensuring that every person can receive compassionate care without barriers.
Family Planning Services has been a part of the Watertown community for many years. The SD Department of Health first established these services in 1984 at the Bartron Clinic. For more than forty years, they have continued to grow and evolve, serving multiple generations with trusted care and guidance.
One of the most surprising aspects of the clinic’s work is that services are available to both women and men, and no one is denied care based on their ability to pay. This message is one they hope the community knows – that help is available to everyone, regardless of income or insurance status.
They also appreciate the ways Codington Connects helps connect the community to resources. How easy it is to access the information, along with the monthly calendar of community events, makes it simple for families to stay informed and engaged.
Those who work at the clinic find the work deeply rewarding. As one staff member shared, “I love working with a variety of people of various ages and being able to share my knowledge and experience in reproductive health. I find it very rewarding to have been of service to generations of families in our community.” This passion and dedication are evident in every interaction, and it is just one of the reasons SD PLAN continues to have a lasting impact in our community.
Thank you, South Dakota PLAN/Family Planning Services for everything you do!
