Andrea Schultz is a social worker at the Watertown School District and member of Codington Connects. School is almost here and Andrea is getting ready to welcome kids back to school! She is inspired most by those who are willing to learn, grow, and change no matter which stage of life they are in.

What do you like most about your job?
I love the variety of duties this position brings, the diversity of people I get to work with, the challenges, and working together with community entities to help build a stronger community.
How has the way your job is done changed over the years?
There is no set job description for the social worker, so each person who has filled this position has brought their own unique path, specialties, and duties to the school district.
What new thing would you like to learn or try?
When things settle down a little bit, I would like to place more focus and time into learning how to play my acoustic guitar.
What is a dream that you want to make come true one day?
I dream about doing a TED Talk one day; however, I need to find the right content and overcome my fear of public speaking.
What’s the most important skill that you bring to the table at Codington Connects?
I would say that the most important skill I bring is my perspective; I like to try and find the root causes of issues in order to find the best solutions. I value the perspective of others and am open to a multidisciplinary team approach for optimal results.
