Whether you are a lifelong reader or just discovering the joy of books, the library supports your reading journey and provides exciting programs for all ages. Check out the library’s
monthly calendar to stay updated on all the events happening at the library.
Programs for Kids and Teens
Families and young readers will love the variety of children’s programs:
- Story Time and Toddler Time: Perfect for little ones to enjoy stories and songs.
- Eager Ears: A story and activity session for kids of all ages.
- STEAM (grades 4-6) and Little STEAMers (grades 2-3): Interactive sessions combining Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math.
Teens can explore their interests:
- Dungeons & Dragons: Where imagination and storytelling come to life.
- Teen Hangout: A weekly gathering with a new theme each time.
- Teen Anime Watch Party: A fun event connected to the Teen Anime Club at Watertown High School.

Online Resources to Keep You Connected
Even when you are not in the library, you can access their extensive online resources:
- Libby: Borrow eBooks and audiobooks from our vast collection on your phone or tablet.
- LawDepot: Create legal documents like wills, lease agreements, and more.
- NewsBank: Access newspapers from around the world, including local publications.
- Kanopy: Stream movies, TV shows, and documentaries from your smart TV or device.
- Genealogy Resources: Trace your family history with tools like Ancestry.

Homebound Delivery Services
The library offers
Homebound Delivery Services for patrons who cannot visit the library due to permanent or temporary disabilities. You can request specific titles or let us choose for you. This service includes regular and large print books, audiobooks, and CDs.
They also collaborate with the
South Dakota State Library’s Accessible Library Services to provide audio and braille materials for patrons with physical or learning disabilities. Simply fill out an application, and the State Library will send a talking book player pre-loaded with books.

Library of Things
Did you know you could borrow more than books?
Library of Things includes:
- Baking pans, lawn games, musical instruments
- Instapot, air fryer, bicycles
- Zoo and state park passes, life jackets, tents, tools …and so much more! Drop by and see what is available to check out.
Book Box Program
The
Book Box Program is a fun and personalized way for readers aged 12 and up to discover new books. Just fill out a form with your reading preferences, and each month they will select a book for you, along with treats and trinkets. You can even provide feedback on the books chosen!
Reading Challenges for All Ages
National Book Month is the perfect time to join one of our
Beanstack reading challenges! Download the app – Beanstack – and log your reading challenges:
- Read by the Slice: Kids K-12 can log reading minutes and earn coupons for a free pizza at Dempsey's.
- Teen Reading Hour Challenge: Teens who read an hour a day can enter drawings for prizes.
- Fall into Reading Challenge: Adults can track their reading and win prizes too.
