Individual of the Month: Amanda Woodruff
Employment Specialist at the Department of Labor
Founder of Rachel’s Hope
This month, Codington Connects is excited to highlight Amanda Woodruff, an Employment Specialist at the Department of Labor and the valued founder of Rachel’s Hope. Amanda’s passion for connecting with the community and her commitment to making a difference shine brightly in all that she does.
Amanda finds joy in her work through meaningful connections with the community. “The best part of my job is being able to interact with those we are helping and building relationships that make a positive impact,” she says.
Empathy is Amanda’s superpower. “It’s what allows me to leave judgment behind and focus entirely on the needs of the person in front of me,” she explains. This skill is at the heart of her ability to provide effective support.
Amanda’s sister Rachel is her greatest inspiration and a guiding force in her life. “Rachel taught me to lead with love and reminded me that kindness can make a big difference. I owe so much of who I am to her,” Amanda shares. Rachel was the inspiration for Rachel’s Hope and Amanda works hard to make sure that others do not go without basic needs in their home so they can feel clean, confident, and comfortable in their lives.
When Amanda is not busy making an impact in the community, she enjoys spending time with her family, playing board games on weekends, and hitting the golf course or frisbee golf course in the summer. A talented baker and cook, Amanda’s culinary skills are a hidden gem!
Amanda’s dream is a community where everyone has healthy bodies, minds, and homes. This vision fuels her dedication to her work through Rachel’s Hope.
Amanda cannot live without a pen and paper—her trusted tools for staying organized and on top of her many tasks, “As the queen of note-taking and writing things down a pen and paper is a must!”
If she could have any superpower, Amanda would choose super speed. “It would allow me to help more people in less time while still focusing on what’s most important,” she explains.
Amanda Woodruff brings a lot of heart, purpose, and dedication to anything she does. Codington Connects is proud to recognize Amanda as this month’s featured individual and celebrate her outstanding contributions to building a stronger community.
