Codington Connects is pleased to recognize Anna Jennings, Regional Operations Manager for the Department of Human Services’ Long Term Services & Supports, as our Individual of the Month! Anna is committed to helping and supporting others, driven by her passion for making a meaningful difference in our community and the lives of those she serves.
In her role as a supervisor, Anna thrives on helping her team succeed. "I like being able to answer questions from my staff," she shares. "Seeing my team working together and sharing information as they coordinate and set up services for the elderly and disabled is incredibly rewarding." Her leadership style fosters teamwork and ensures that individuals in need receive the care and support they deserve.
Anna’s commitment extends beyond her office walls. As a member of the Centralized Location subcommittee, she is working diligently to establish shared office space for social service organizations in the area. Her involvement in community initiatives like the Watertown Area Memory Care & Aging Network (WAMCAN) and the Senior Companions of South Dakota Board reflects her devotion to improving services and resources for others.
Traveling across the region is an important part of Anna's work. Visiting staff in Aberdeen and Sisseton allows her to build relationships and ensure continuity of care. "Hopefully, this winter will be a mild one for traveling," she jokes, balancing her professionalism with a practical outlook.
Anna treasures time spent with her family when she is not at work, particularly watching her grandchildren excel in their sporting events. She also enjoys relaxing walks with her husband and their dog, relishing the simple joys of life. After experiencing the wonders of an Alaskan cruise this summer, Anna dreams of exploring even more destinations by sea.
With retirement on the horizon in about a year, Anna remains motivated by the impact of her work and the relationships she has built. We are grateful for her dedication, leadership, and passion for making northeast South Dakota a better place for all.
Thank you, Anna, for your exceptional service!
