Codington Connects is proud to recognize Jane Koehn, Bright Start Home Visiting Nurse with Bright Start, as our Individual of the Month.
Jane plays an important role in supporting moms and families during one of the most meaningful times in their lives. Through her work with Bright Start, she provides in-home nursing support that helps promote healthy pregnancies, build confidence in parenting, and strengthen family well-being. Jane values the opportunity to build trusting, meaningful relationships with her clients, offering guidance, care, and encouragement every step of the way.
In her work and involvement with Codington Connects, Jane brings the ability to form strong, trust-based relationships with families. By working directly in the home environment, she gains a unique perspective that allows her to identify needs, strengths, and potential risks that might otherwise go unnoticed. This insight helps create a more coordinated, patient-centered approach to care and strengthens collaboration across community partners.
Jane is inspired every day by the strength and resilience of the women and families she serves. Watching them grow in confidence, make healthy choices, and prepare for their baby is incredibly meaningful. Even the small moments—like a mother feeling empowered or a baby thriving—serve as powerful reminders of the impact of her work.
Outside of her role, Jane enjoys camping, spending time with family and friends, working on embroidery projects, and playing cards. She is also a fan of the Minnesota Twins. And like many of us, she relies on her daily cup of coffee to start the day feeling focused and ready to support others.
Jane shared that if she could have any superpower, it would be the ability to rewind time—allowing her to revisit meaningful moments and reconnect with loved ones.
