In 2022, The 437 Project was a mission to run 437 miles across the state of South Dakota to raise funds in order to support the Helpline Center’s statewide crisis and suicide support services. With amazing success and community support across the state, the project is back for 2023!
This year, the 437 project is a group of twelve runners that is made up of community leaders who will stop at nothing to influence and create positive change in the Mount Rushmore State. On
Thursday, September 21st, runners will depart from the west side of the state to begin the
437 mile relay-style journey. Tackling the ever-changing South Dakota weather and terrain, runners will connect with communities as they raise funds and awareness for this initiative, finishing in Sioux Falls on
Sunday, September 24th. The runners of The 437 Project invite everyone to come out to run, support, and encourage them as they pass through communities along the route.
Alex Pool, one of our Helpline Center staff that works on the Helpline Center Network of Care program, was a runner last year and will be again this year. Watch the video below to hear his why!
